Removing Old Window Awnings

Remove the screws from the awning support brackets braces or arms attached to the building using a screwdriver.

Insert a screwdriver into the screws in the bracket and remove them. Turn screen clips 1 4 of a turn and remove screen to the interior of the home. 4 these steps to be done on both sides pry hinge bar off hinge post. Repeat the process until all the awnings have been taken off.

Slide black plastic hinge guide out of hinge track. Stand so that you are not directly under the awning so you re protected if it. Use a putty knife and wire brush to remove dried caulking from the wall. Window awnings frames and attachments vary with the manufacturer.

Do ensure that the window is not locked. Patch any holes in the exterior and take theopportunity to look carefully at windows for cracks and any damage.
