Replace Andersen Window Screen Metal Spline

Hello i ve attached three photos of screens from my 1974 vintage anderson casement windows.

Replace andersen window screen metal spline.

The width of the frames both the same for both sizes of screens is 0 75 inches. Once all the splines are in place just cut off the excess with a utility knife. Have a helper preferably your wife so there s somebody to yell at and blame hold the metal spline straight as you pound it into place with a hammer. First roll in the wire on one side of the screen frame that will make an indent so you can place the spline in position.

Using slot or philips head screwdriver pry the spline from the from the grooves around the edge of the frame. Pry up the screen spline. With the screening tool place the wheel towards the outside of the spline and start rolling it in that way if you slip the wheel of the tool will jump on the outside of the screen instead on top of your new screening. The screen is held in place with metal spline.
