Due to a low pitch it is easy for water to find its way through if there is not sufficient overlap.
Shed roof leaking through felt.
A tiles been missing etc.
The felt on out 7 x 7 ft pent roof shed lasted about 7 years before one of the overlaps started letting in water partly along the line of the overlap.
With that being said your shed metal roof can fail.
Here s a quick overview of how to fix a metal roof on a shed.
My shed roof was done with shed felt first and it lasted only about 6 or 7 years the last time i did it with good stuff was about 28 or so years ago and it is still just the same as when it was applyed i glue the joints with mastic and use clout nails every inch or so the glued joints run down the roof dont forget to let the felt overhang.
Metal roofing is impervious.
If you are happy there is a good enough overlap i always go with a minimum of 4 6 inches.
If your ceiling has a plastic vapor barrier between the drywall and the attic insulation push the insulation aside and look for flow stains on the plastic often water runs to openings in the vapor barrier such as at ceiling light fixtures.
Some roof leaks are tough to locate.
Bitumen felt should be 100 water tight but it 146 s not a breathable product and can cause condensation this could be the problem if the felt hasn t perished.
Sometimes the water shows up at a ceiling spot distant from the leak.
Fitting felt to a shed part 2 gives instructions on how to fit roofing felt to a shed roof cutting nailing gluing and replacing wooden trims afterwards.
Except that it relies on hex head screws with thick rubber washers.
Often it s a leaky screw hole or improperly seated sections of roofing.
The felt could be perishing especially if any parts of the roof have been exposed to the elements previously i e.
