Sheet Metal Relief

Lists corners to which you can apply corner relief.

Sheet metal relief.

Click the create relief tool button on the sheet metal ribbon tab. For example if you make a partial flange as above using all the defaults the software makes relief cuts at the end of the bends as shown to the right. When you select a corner it is highlighted in the graphics area. In sheet metal a bend relief is an incision cut along the sides of a planned bend.

When you apply a relief option to the selected corner the list shows the option applied. Select a hard edge bend face flange face or 3d solid entire model. In the corner relief propertymanager under scope select the sheet metal body to which to apply the corner relief. To eliminate this a bend relief is added so the edge of the sheet metal is perpendicular to the bend.

Preventing tearing and part deformation during the bending process. Do one of the following. Choose create relief in the sheet metal menu. In general a minimum bend relief is equal to the material thickness plus the inside bend radius.

Under corners click collect all corners to list all corners in the sheet metal body. Enter relief size by bend radius ratio or force bend reliefs. Select an item see the note below. Though bend relief lengths and widths vary between projects they all share a common goal.

Lets you select the sheet metal body to which the corner relief is applied. Synchronous sheet metal is pretty cool even cooler than just normal synchronous modeling if you ll excuse that word. Click corner relief sheet metal toolbar or insert sheet metal corner relief.
